Rotator widget not working after WP upgrade to 4.01

Dear Support Team or other clever people,

Hi. I’ve just upgraded a clients WP site to WP4.01.

I then updated the Image Rotator plugin to the latest version.

But now the rotator is not working (or seems to be not working). Note, I am not a web developer so my technical knowledge is limited.

Instead of the rotating images I initially got a message popping up on the website saying “This isn’t the transistion you are looking for.

I went into the widget control panel in the CMS and noticed that when I updated the plugin it seemed to alter all the image settings. Now every image was ticked to display on every page. The default was ‘show image when unchecked’and all pages were ticked. The Apply nofollow, Open in New tab/window and randomise order were all set to TRUE. I’m sure the settings before updating the plugin had images displaying only when ticked. And I did not want the rotating images appearing in a new tab/window so I changed all these to False.

I decided to turn off all images on the multiple rotator widgets I have used across the site, reasoning that having all the widgets showing on all pages was causing a conflict. Then I would activate just one widget and see if that worked on one specific page.

This stopped the “This isn’t the transistion you are looking for’ pop-up appearing as I switched from page to page. Now it just had a spinning’time-out’ wheel and still no rotating image gallery.
The CMS and the website run very slow too.

I have checked my widget settings in the CMS and they seem correct and logical.

When I alter a setting in the widget control panel e.g change transistion from loop to fade, or tick an option box option I get a warning box pop-up saying ‘Warning: Unresponsive script’.

I’ve made screengrabs of thes warning pop-ups, plus CMS setting which i can provide if it helps diagnose the problem.

I even deactivated and then deleted the plugin and reinstalled via WordPress CMS. No joy.

Have I done something wrong or maybe due to lack of tech knowledge I am doing something very dumb? Have any other rotator widget users been experiencing this issue?

I’ve now rolled my site back to 20th of November to the older version of WP (3.9.2) and the older version of Image Rotator widget and it’s working fine again. Hmm. Any advice.
