RSS 2.0 tags in WP 2.0.1

  • I’m using WP 2.0.1 and am having hard time trying to figure out why my feed won’t validate. I think the the <title> and <link> tags are causing problems, because they are displayed with only a closing tag <title/> instead of the usual opening and closing tags.

    I can’t get the title to appear when I add the feed to my Yahoo acc’t to test, nor will my image appear in other newsreaders. I’m at the end of my tether on this; I’ve looked through all possible php files that have to do w/feeds but can’t pinpoint the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • What sort of plugin are you using that adds all the itunes stuff? Does your feed validate if you disable that?

    I’m not familiar with the “feed.xml” way — is that something custom as well? https://www.thestarvingcritic.com/feed seems to do the same things though.

    Actually yes, the feed does validate after removing the plugin (Podpress, BTW). I’ve tested other sites with this plugin that have valid feeds though, so I’m not sure what the issue is.

    The problem was with some content that wasnt being escaped for the RSS feed. I have added filters to protect against this issue now.
