RSS and Feedburner
-
Okay, I don’t know if the problem is a WP one or not, but I’m having no luck with feedburner, so I was hoping someone here might have an idea what’s going on.
I had been lax on my posting, but finally was getting back on track last week. So, scheduled post goes up Monday morning no problem, check the site, it’s all good.
However, I notice that the feed doesn’t update. Thinking that maybe it’s just a delay, I don’t think too much of it, until it still hasn’t updated the next day.
So, I log into my feedburner account to check it out. Clicking on the link to view the feed, all I see is 2 lines of HTML spam links. That’s odd, I think.
So I then check the feed address and notice the address for my feed is accurate with the exception of dropping the www, so I’m not sure what’s wrong. But maybe if I change it, it’ll fix itself and be good to go. So I add the www back into the address, and get an error saying it’s not allowed, as it isn’t a valid XML file.
Next, I figure I’ll check the root feed straight out of WP. So I deactivate my Feedsmith plug-in and type in the address of my feed. Interestingly enough, it comes up perfectly.
So I’ve been going back and forth with no luck with FB support for a week. They’re not sure what the problem is, but I was wondering if anyone knows if WP could be hacked in such a way that this would happen.
For reference, I’m on WP 2.7.1, down to just Akismet and WP-Stats for Plugins and have tried several different themes (and no plugins as well) to no effect.
The addresses are:
https://www.liveworkbalance.com/feed/ (The root feed that works)
https://feeds2.feedburner.com/Liveworkbalance (The other feed that doesn’t)Somehow in between WP and FB, my feed has been diverted and replaced with this spam, and I’m not sure how to change it back.
Help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Adam
Figure I should check the feed
