Wow! Thanks to Google, and thanks to https://htmlfixit.com/?p=905 and thanks to incursio (https://trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/2379), I have found part of my problem.

This bug should be on the front page of the WordPress Website.

Now, if only I can get my feeds to work with FeedBurner. I will find out, oh! yea, I will. ??

    Thanks

As I recall, Steve Smith’s plugin assumes that it can write to .htaccess. In fact, it assumes your host has and supports it (aka, no IIS and windows).

So, do you have an .htaccess file?
Can the server write to it?

Don’t worry about the fake feed url that the plugin has you give Feedburner. That’s why it puts an entry in .htaccess for the redirect.

Yes, HandySolo, I have an .htaccess file, and yes I CHMOD it to 666, just in case. It is sill empty, whatever I try: deactivate then reactivate the plugin, change the permalinks structure (at the moment, I have the “Date and name based” option checked.

    The randomly generated link: https://baudesign.ca/weblog/feedburner_333116/
    …leads nowhere.

And my .htaccess file is still empty. ??

That link will always lead nowhere until there’s stuff in your .htaccess file. That much I can tell you.

Does your web server support (and have enabled) .htaccess?

    To answer your question:

“Does your web server support (and have enabled) .htaccess?”,

Yes it does. I don’t know what to say, or where to look at. Why is this file still and always empty?
