RSS Feed

  • My site is a blog and I am trying to send out a broadcast message when a new post is available. Unfortunately, the RSS feed coming through is of the entire post and not an excerpt of the post. I installed the mPress Custom Feed Excerpts plugin, but it is still capturing the feed of the entire post. What could be wrong?

  • Go to Dashboard –>Settings –>Reading and look for ‘For each article in a feed, show’ and select the radio button next to Summary. Hit Save.

    You probably don’t need that plugin either. Looking at the present raw feed is showing me the full post and the excerpt, too. I’m gonna guess that plugin is causing that by adding the excerpt itself.

    And be aware that the feed is cached, so making a change and then checking it often shows the exact same thing as before the change.
