RSS Feed Currently Unavailable

  • Getting the following error message:

    Unable to fetch the feed
    Error :
    The data could not be converted to UTF-8. You MUST have either the iconv or mbstring extension installed. Upgrading to PHP 5.x (which includes iconv) is highly recommended.
    RSS Feed currently unavailable.

    The plugin (v 1.2.1) just stopped working within the last day or so. Facebook page id is: 311429080055.

    Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

    And like magic, the error has now gone away and everything is back to normal. I’d still like to know if anyone has any ideas as to why this happens and anything that can be done to avoid it in the future.

    I am getting the exact same message, but the RSS feed has never worked.

    My web host has asked if the plugin uses a specific non standard port? If so, we can check to ensure it is not a blocked port within the server firewall.

    Does anyone know the answer?
