  • I see a well-formed feed that validates
remember this is for feed readers – not browsers

Actually, a friend checked the validator & it’s not validating properly. Besides, Google Reader hasn’t properly updated my feed in a week, in Firefox my feed also hasn’t updated in a week. Chrome displays naked html code.

Something is wrong & I can’t figure it out.

you could have a plugin affecting it

The Chrome issue was a red herring since Chrome doesn’t read rss feeds & requires a plugin to do that.

But the feed definitely isn’t working. I haven’t installed any new plugins since the feed stopped working. I have updated a few already installed plugins. I’ll keep my eyes peeled in case any obvious conflict appears to be happening.

My host did install FastCGI on my server installation around the time the feed stopped working but I’ve done some Google searches & don’t see any obvious conflicts bet. that & rss feeds.

The feed is valid and working properly for me, but it’s being served with the “text/html” media type, which could break some feed readers.

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 – 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to rule-out a theme-specific issue (themes can affect feeds).
