• so.

around the 2.5 update or so, my rss feed completely went wild. it doesn’t update for more than half of the people who subscribe to it. it shows my last post as being from december. occasionally it does update, but not with the newest posts, and sometimes just with snippets.

    my website is https://scribblehoney.com

i have searched this & not found any answers. it doesn’t seem to be any one particular reader that isn’t getting updated – and it’s not *every* subscriber – just about half or so, it seems.

    any suggestions or ideas?

    Your RSS feed is fine:
    https://scribblehoney.com/?feed=rss2

It shows the latest post as “Small pieces of happiness”.

that is the problem, for *you* it might be fun, but for many people it isn’t. it is fine for me too. but in the last month, quite a few people have been complaining.

Check Dashboard -> Settings -> Writing to see if you have any Update Services listed (you should).

Some feed readers are just slow to update and are very buggy, so it’s not surprising that some users are having trouble. I no longer use bloglines for this very reason. Google Reader seems to work well though, and it updates very quickly.

Kalen: It’s not up to WordPress whether a reader checks for updates on the feed or not. WordPress itself has no control on what a reader does.

Your feed itself is fine. This is not a function of who looks at the feed. Everybody gets the same feed, period. If somebody’s reader is broken, then they need to figure out why their reader doesn’t work. WordPress can’t fix that.
