    Hello,

I’d like to post all my rss feeds on a private page on my blog. To be specific, I’d like to view an aggregate of my favorite rss feeds and google alerts on one page that is password protected.

Is there a plugin for this? I don’t want the rss feeds to create new posts or anything; I want them to stream on a page, so I can read all of them in one place.

I will be hand-picking articles to share on social media sites from this stream.

    Ideas? Advice?

    Thanks!

    John

  • Hi John,

Do you know about Google Reader, and other RSS readers? If not, I would recommend using one of those instead.

If you’re trying to construct your own WP-based RSS reader (something I’ve been wanting to try), I think the best approach would be to hand-create a theme to do this. If you want to go that route, I’d be willing to collaborate with you on it.

Or are you trying to do something else?

I have Google Reader, but I’d like to be able to bookmark certain feeds, send them to my different apps for sharing over social networks.I thought this way I could employ different plugins to help with the social part. I’d also like to be able to delete them after I’ve written about them or shared them. I thought all of this would be easier if I had them on my own site.

I’m not really looking to construct a WP-based reader, but if you’re looking for a collaborator, try Odesk. There are lots of competent, affordable coders that could help you get there.

    I appreciate your response!

I guess I’ll go back to my Google Reader for now.

If it’s not too much trouble, could you elaborate what you want to do?

If I understand, this would be similar to Google Reader, but with better sharing (and ideally, a better bookmarking system :P), and an integrated ability to compose posts from an RSS item?

I have my Facebook updates as an RSS feed, and if Reader had the ability to update my Facebook page as well (by sharing a blog post), that would be nice.
