RSS Feeds Empty for Hidden Categories

I’m using a theme called inFocus and have set certain categories to be hidden from my main blog. Any categories that are set as hidden, the RSS feed shows as empty for those categories despite many posts in those categories. I’ve contacted the theme developer but he couldn’t find any cause in his code, so he pointed me to the WordPress forums.
