RSS feeds receiving too much traffic

I am working on a site that is hosted by a third party. Starting on Friday afternoon I detected way too much traffic directed at the RSS feeds, normally 90% less than we are receiving.

As a stop gap measure, I have added two sub directories, in effect turning off the feeds (../feed/ and ../comments/feed/).

What I would like to do now is change the URL to the feeds so I can once again use them.
