• My website (www.cdmdirect.com) includes an option to subscribe to my blog via RSS. Recently, I’ve notice that this link is broken when using Chrome. (Everything works fine in Explorer.)

When using Chrome, clicking the RSS link brings up a page that appears to be an unformatted page of my blog entries. There is no option to subscribe to the RSS feed and the blog entries are unreadable.

Both my sidebard-blog.php and sidebar.php include this line:

    ” target=”_blank” id=”rss”>Subscribe to the blog

Do you see anything in the above code that needs fixing?

    Your suggestions will be appreciated.

  • Chrome does not have a rss reader. You need to install that as an extension in that browser.

Thanks. That’s an easy fix for me but is there a fix that will apply to visitors to the site? Or is it best to remove the RSS option and just have people provide their email address?

    Thanks again.

That RSS feed isn’t meant for people to read, when people visit the link they just need to grab the URL. That’s all.

The RSS option is there so people can subscribe to your blog and not go the site everytime.

Normally you place the RSS symbol some wherecand then just link it to https://www.cdmdirect.com/feed
