I have been embedding Picasa slideshows for some time to be able to let other users filter their photo albums and add captions, etc.

There are two disadvantages to this approach:
    1) because Picasa uses Flash Player, the slideshows are not visible on iPhone or iPad, not on my Samsung Galaxy, This is becoming a serious disadvantage!

    2) On PCs the slideshow works perfectly but at the end displays a great big arrow which takes the viewer right into my Picasa album, which I definitely do not want.

Using Google Sites for a couple of other sites I maintain, I am able to insert a Google Gadget which takes the Picasa RSS feed and presents a slideshow which completely fulfils my requirements.
I have spent some hours looking through the slideshow plugins, but none of them really fit – they almost all use static photo galleries, sometimes with a one-off upload.
Your plugin seems to offer daily updates, which might be usable but can lead to misunderstandings!
You can find an example of my WordPress page at https://zurich.britishresidents.ch/past-events/golf-2013-2/ and, by chance, the corresponding Google Sites page at https://sites.google.com/site/angloswissfribourg/recent-events/fasc-bra-golf-challenge.
Can you not offer an RSS feed function? Surely it is not so complicated.

I don’t have any plans to add an RSS feed to Shashin. It gets its data from Picasa’s feed. Why not just use Picasa’s RSS feed?

    Thanks I understand.
An RSS feed just gives me the slides without the slideshow in WordPress. There are plenty of plugins that use RSS but they are not suitable for a variable number of slides – only a slideshow will do that.
