rss ssl feeds (K2 SBM)

Hi,

I’m using WP 2.2 along with K2 v2beta355. I wanted to have 5 items of a feed from a website added to the the sidebar using the rss module. It works fine with http based feeds but shows nothing for https feed. It shows the following in the sidebar:

No feed items, the feed may currently be unavailable.

I read some code and figured out that WP uses Magpie RSS internally which inturn uses Snoopy – the Perl net client. I changed the path for the cURL binary in the public variables section and it still gives me the same response. Has anybody got this to work?

PS: using the curl command on command line gets the whole RSS feed without errors.
