I’ve been having some strange problems, and was at first going to say it was my upgrade to 2.5, though I remember it happening in a way before.

I get the following error when I go to few my RSS/Feed area of the site:

Error 500 – Internal server error

An internal server error has occured!
    Please try again later.

I initially thought it was my FeedBurner plug I was using, but since uninstalling (wasn’t pulling newest feeds) I realized that it was something with the feed itself.

You can go to https://www.taddmencer.com/feed to check for yourself.

I’ve done nothing lately other than update the WordPress. However, again, it was doing something similar before.

I’m not sure exactly what you’d need to know about the install other than the version and the page. The rest of the site works fine – just not the RSS – which as we all know is a pretty dang important part of a WordPress install.

    Thanks for any help!

    Ok, fast update:

I tried an RSS for an individual post: and it works. I just can’t get a feed for the whole site.

    So, this will work:
    https://www.taddmencer.com/2008/04/07/the-family-values-tour/rss

    But not this
    https://www.taddmencer.com/rss (or with /feed)

Your category feeds (e.g., https://www.taddmencer.com/entertainment/feed) and comment feeds https://www.taddmencer.com/comment/feed are working fine, so I would check if a plugin is interfering.

Well … now I’m even more confused.

I deactivated all my plugs .. and it worked. So I went through and activated them one at a time to see if one will crap it out … and .. now all are activated and it still works.

Not sure what the problem was, but it’s currently working. So if someone has this problem later … you know what to do to fix it … I just wish I knew WHY that worked!

Ok, I take it back. Jumped on my site today and VIOLA! RSS feed is broken again.

    No idea what’s up …

I’ll try and deactivate/reactivate my plugs again, but I don’t want to do that every day or several times a day … that will get extremely old, extremely fast.

hmm … so far it looks like the All In One SEO is causing the problem … at least when I deactivate that particular plug everything works fine …

    Curses.

Ok … I take it back. Again. RSS feed is, yet again, broken.

Maybe I’ll just start re-uploading the PHP files and see if I have a corrupt file.

    Anyone else have this happen?

Ok, turned out it was a server issue and had little if nothing to do with actual WordPress.

What I ended up doing is adding a link to the .htaccess file to have all PHP files in the base directory handled as PHP5 files.

    AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

    This seemed to work nicely.

Thanks for allll the wonderful advice ..
