RSVP form saving data but not showing confirmation page

  • The site was working fine until yesterday. When RSVP page is submitted the data is recorded but it never comes back with confirmation page and it looks like no emails
    are sent out.

    Eventually get this message: 504 Gateway Time-out The server didn’t respond in time.

    It’s hosted on namecheap through EasyWP. All plugins are up-to-date as well as the wordpress itself. Unused plugins and themes have been removed.

    I can’t tell from this information. Are there server logs you can check that might tell you if, for example, the server ran out of memory? Or maybe you should ask your host if they can provide any clues. I tested the form just now and got a confirmation message. Couldn’t get it to screw up on cue.

    Thank you David, not sure how it got fixed but hosting company was not much help as they said that there were no errors in the server logs. But they did not provide them for me. What I was doing is checking email configuration on the website.

    It does look like when it was working just a few days ago, there were email notifications coming to a specific gmail account. And when it was failing that did not happen.

    Thank you for getting back to me, hopefully it will stay working.
