• Hi, I’ve set up a rugby website but I’m stuck with getting the correct results to show when I input a score.

    At the moment I can add a score and bonus points along with win/loss/draw but they don’t automatically update in the league table.

    I don’t know how to use the formula equations yet so think this may be where I’m going wrong and why the bonus points and total points aren’t being added in the league table.

    Any tips on how to set this up for Rugby Union?

  • What columns have you chosen for the league table?
    post a pic of what your equations page looks like (Sportspress -> Configure -> Table Columns)

    @gator8 great advice!

    That’s what I’d check first as well

    Hi @gator8 apologies for the late reply. Please see attached image;

    It should be the following;

    4 points for a win
    1 point for a draw
    0 points for a loss

    Bonus points are awarded if the team scores 4 or more tries in one match.
    Bonus point awarded if team loses by 7 points or less.

    I have no idea how I would create an equation for this. At the moment I’m adding the bonus points manually when I add the scores (which I don’t mind) but when it comes to updating the table, I have to add the bonus points and the total points which is an extra task to perform.

    Hope you can help.

    Thanks

    ah, I see. There is no way (that I have found) to use any conditional equations.
    And these conditional equations would have to be executed at the event level, not the league table level.

    If you don’t mind adding the BPs at the event level, the league table can still be made to add them all together.

    I see you’ve set up a “bpfor” variable. Did you do this in Configure -> Event Results, correct?
    If it is in there, then that number should be rolled up into the League Table without you having to edit or adjust anything. Oh, you don’t need to specify ‘bpfor x 1’ for the league table – ‘bpfor’ is just fine.

    And, I’m not sure if it makes a difference, but I would make my Pts column be -> (win x 4) + draw + bpfor

    Hope this helps.
