Ruined a great plugin
-
ProfilePress asked me to give them a “five star review”. It was a popup in my admin dashboard. Ok, here is the review they asked for:
I am running a website with membership functionality. Everything is nicely worked out – and it just works. I wanted to give members the option to update their own avatar pictures – and that’s why I installed WP User Avatar. And then came this. ProfilePress is a half-baked solution that does not even remotely do what I want to do for my members.
– I do not need a third or fourth option for my members to register
– I have paid memberships – which just does not work with ProfilePress
– I don’t need a third layer of redirects for logins and logouts
– As far as I can see, no Ajax login – which allows users to log in without going to a different page
– You can’t synchronize memberships – so that everyone pays for the next year on the same day of the year.Bottom line: For a user avatar plugin it’s high on bloat and for a membership plugin it’s low on functionality. Where is the switch to switch off all the profile and membership garbage – and just give me my simple user avatars back?
