• Hi,

One of my sites is not able to update, neither automatically nor manually, the rules update. I receive the following message:

“The last rules update for the Wordfence Web Application Firewall was unsuccessful. The last successful update check was 21. October 2019 13:30, so this site may be missing new rules added since then. You may wait for the next automatic attempt at 4. November 2019 12:30 or try to Manually Update by clicking the “Manually Refresh Rules” button below the Rules list.”

    Any help? Thank you ??

    PS: I use v7.4.0

  • Can you send diagnostics report to wftest [at] wordfence [dot] com? Make sure and add this forum url to the message body and your forum username to the subject line. That will help me find it.

    Hi @per4mance

    Thanks for the update.

The diagnostics report hasn’t arrived so can you send it to yourself and if it arrives forward it to wftest [at] wordfence [dot] com

Remember to put @per4mance in the Ticket Number/Forum Username input field so that we know it is from you.

To send the diagnostics report look at the top of the Tools >> Diagnostics page and press the SEND REPORT BY MAIL button.

    Hi @wfphil,

It seems the diagnostic does not send Emails. I use the 2FA function of your plugin and I receive an Email notification after login. All other Email components work without any issue.

This seems tricky. What could be wrong?

    Hi @per4mance

    Thank you for the update.

With regards the missing diagnostics report emails you can ask your hosting provider if there are any unsent emails for your site in the mail server queue.

To send the report you can use your browser save function to save the Diagnostics page as a complete HTML file (including page assets).

You will also need to click on the Click to view your system’s configuration in a new window link in the Other Tools section on the Diagnostics page. This will open a new browser tab and you can use your browser save function again for this new page.

Place the HTML files and asset directories in a ZIP file and send to wftest [at] wordfence [dot] com

Remember to put @per4mance in the email subject field so that we know that it is from you.

Also via SSH/FTP or your hosting control panel file manager please check the last modified timestamp of the file below and let me know here what it says:

    ~/wp-content/wflogs/rules.php
