• Hi there and merry christmas :D,
I have just packaged a new version of rumgallery, with a more “correct” integration into wp-admin, easier installation, settings edited in the backend, and alot of bugfixes.
    Find instructions and more here.
Example galleries can be found here.
Feel free to give any ideas or other kind of feedback.

    Great Bill,

But you get “most” out of it when using it with the nightly builds of the next generation of wordpress…

The random picture on the frontpage is another plugin right? ??

I download the your plugin today – installed it as directed and activated it under the admin plugin panel – after some directory permissions tweaking, it activated ok

I created a directory and uploaded a photo to see how it worked – then used my browser and went to mysite/gallery.php – the page opened and my photo was there – but I’m getting errors – no header and footer is shown

I suspect your plugin has not been updated to reflect the changes in WordPress ver 1.5 beta 1 (release date Jan 03-2005) – In the new January nightly releases, it appears that the header and footer files have been removed from the root directory – the new index.php calls them from elsewhere – I believe that your plugin is designed to look for them in the root directory but they are no longer there.

Am I correct in assuming this ??

Sorry for the delay, but my work is overwhelming this week, I cant get to make the next release before the end of this week…

Will there be something so that only registered users can see certain galleries?

Take your time Dan. With the additions you’re gonna make to the new version it will pay to be a little patient :). Also, I’m having some difficulty with the necessary upgrade to 1.5 beta ;).

I hope you succeed in the sort_order thing (most recent on first page). And the other folder thing for the gallerycontent instead of wp-content. And, and, and…

No really, it sounds already great.

Something I just thought of would also be nice. Just an idea, but wouldn’t it be nice to have this sequence: thumbnail, then clicking for a larger image, then the possibility to click for the original image (even larger). If this largest image could be passed as a variable to a picturepage.php (template) which could have it’s own markup and style, the three images together could fit perfectly into the look and feel of the blog, just like your example with the rabbit.

Most of the plugins call the largest image as a jpg into an ugly and mostly empty _blank window, with the image aligning to the left. But in this case it could be made to look like anything you want.

hi there, great plugin you’ve got there. probably the best one i’ve seen for wordpress.

one thing i’m noticing is the image width setting– i feel like half of the time when i insert new images in, it shows them full size at the size i uploaded them at, say 500×400. but then sometimes it resizes the full size images to whatever the image width is… say it’s set at 650. then it resizes my picture proportionately.

is there someway to set it up so that the image width is the max width of the image, instead of the absolute width? say if i upload an image that’s 700px, it would just resize it to 650. the resizing in it’s current incarnation is really problematic.

not sure why it only does it every once in a while, too.

    thanks!

actually, i guess a simple solution to this would be the ability to choose between setting a max width, OR a max height. would make things a bit more versatile. either way works though.
