Running Locally on Mac; index.php only says "It Works!"

  • Can’t quite figure out why I’m not seeing the homepage, anyone run into this problem before? If I go to a specific page, i.e., localhost:8888/?page_id=2, it takes me to the Sample Page that is set up by default. I can access admin by going to localhost:8888/wp-admin. You get the idea…but if I go to index.php, it’s just a white page that says “It Works!” Running on MAMP.

  • Check the directory for another file that’s called index.htm or index.html or something similar – pretty much anything that’s not index.php

    I’d be pretty sure that you’ll find another file in there. When you do, delete it and you should see your WP site.
