• I am trying to develop a WordPress site locally with my partner. This means we would both have MAMP running on different Macs and use Dropbox to sync the files.
    It gets tricky when you get to working on the same database simultaneously. You can do a symlink on your Mac to get MAMP to look in Dropbox for you database but I hear that it can cause database errors.
    I a recent post here, Kevin Marsden posts his solution for working with Dropbox for the WordPress files but remotely linking MAMP to your webhost for the database. Seems like the perfect solution;

    I hear that it is not possible to run 2 MAMP installations on 2 Macs for the same WordPress site at the same time. Is this the case? If so, has anyone got a way for 2 or more developers to locally work simultaneously?

    I have trawled the web and www.ads-software.com with few results. There really must be a way to do this.

    I was trying to set up https://wp.tutsplus.com/tutorials/hosting/wordpress-development-and-deployment-with-mamp-git-and-dropbox/ this workflow with MAMP, Git and Dropbox but the Git bit is a bit too deep for a graphic designer such as myself.

    Can anyone advise what they think is the simplest, smartest way to do this?
