    Hi, the plugin seems to be running out of sync with my smartphone. Every day, it’s becoming more complicated to enter the correct authentication code.

    How could I fix this without resetting all the authentication for my users?

    I am sorry to read about your problem. However, there is nothing synced between the plugin and the smartphone.

    This is now it works (in very simple terms) – the QR code that you scan with your smartphone is the “master password”. The app on your smartphone then uses this master password, and the date and time to create the one time code.

    So what is happening exactly? Are you getting errors that the code is incorrect?

    If you create a new test account, and setup 2FA, does it work better or do you encounter the same issue?

    Yes, I get many errors that the code is incorrect, only when the “timer” of the Google Authenticator code is almost at the end, the code works.

    I don’t want to create a new test account, because I am not able to request that all users redo their authentication, it would be a problem to my website.

    Why do you think the timing is going wrong between the app and the plugin authentication? The code works, but it seems to be “shifted” in time, not in good sync with the auth code the plugin is expecting

    Hello @alemao2k6

    We asked you to create a new test user so we can try to identify the problem first. It does not imply that we will ask you to ask the users to reset their setup.

    Anyway, we found something else that could help. Can you try syncing the time on your app as explained in the section My Google Authenticator codes don’t work in this article by Google?
