Running WP on an internal host ( no public internet )

    Hello everyone

    I would like to run a wordpress installation on an internal site without any internet access.

    I know I have to manually upload and install updates and plugins. And I am fine with that.

    My main concern is how WP tries to get information from the internet for updates.

    Does it periodically try to connect?

    Will these errors go into a log file?

    If so how would go about disabling all of this unwanted traffic?
