Russian letters are not readable.

  • I use Post SMTP for automatic emails when appointment request. My site is English and Russian, but the Cyrillic letters are not readable. Here is what I receive:
    “Date: Feb 17, 2021
    Time: 10:00
    City: Nicosia | D D?DoD?? D??
    Message: Dˉ ?…D????? D·D°D?D?? D°????D???? D?D° ? ???€D?D′Do??

    This is a Contact Confirmation mail.
    We Will contact You as soon as possible .”

    Beside that the email that is sent, found in email log is:
    “Date: Feb 17, 2021
    Time: 10:00
    City: Nicosia |
    Никосия
    Message:
    Я хочу записатьмчя на стридку

    This
    is a Contact Confirmation mail.
    We Will contact You as soon as
    possible .”

    Is there any settings I can add to read Russian?

    Have you tried sending out the mail with Post SMTP disabled, are the characters only messed up when sending through Post SMTP?

    Thanks for quick reply, before I was using WP Mail SMTP, for the characters russian was fine I had one other issue => Hotmail couldn’t receive emails,even 8f sending was ok, the emails through WP via Gmail/Gsuite are rejected.
    With Post SMTP every is working except the russian characters.

    Interesting, and kinda weird. There’s not any settings that I can see for this – but it’s odd that it works with WP Mail SMTP, but not Post. Does it work using no SMTP plugins (i.e. out-of-the-box wp_mail)?

    Please could you include a copy of your Post SMTP diagnostics log on your next reply too?

    Hi @tneville

    So there is way to get russian characters in my emails wit Post SMTP ?

    If I disable Post SMTP or any SMTP plug-in, then no emails are going out, i just get error.
