Russian spam is back again!!!

  • This issue went away with a plugin update a few weeks back. Now it’s started again! Lots of fake subscribers with.ru addresses coming through regularly.

    We have tested this on your site and mail.ru signup gives error and submission is not successful.
    Can you please give us spam email so that we can test on our environment.

    We have just released new version of Email Subscribers addressing this issue.
    Please update Email Subscribers to the latest version and let us know how it goes?

    @concisemedia. This has just happened to me too. I usually get 1-2 subscribers a day, but 68 in the last 24 hours, which is totally out of the ordinary.

    Wondering how one can get the “*.ru” subscription with the latest version of Email Subscribers.

    @testiflair Just want to confirm which version of Email Subscribers are you using?

    Just want to understand do you use Rainmaker WordPress plugin to get the subscribers?

    We are looking into this issue and figure out the way to fix this.

    @concisemedia and @haagamble, I’m getting flooded now…Captcha is only available in their Premium plugin. Starting to wonder if the team is intentionally making this happen to get us ‘free’ users to go Premium out of sheer desperation. Even my new post notifications have stopped – for no apparent reason, and support has not helped. Is this a marketing strategy? Notice that the plug-in developers are not responding or taking any action, either!
