For example:

The string that goes to the first parameter is:

‘(AOV)‘

It is not translatable, but it should be.

I noticed some strings contain the DOLLAR sign in them.

However, dollars are not always the currency. It should re-use currency (with its formatting) as per WooCommerce settings.

%1$s – first string param
%2$s – 2nd string param

Its placeholders. They should be left as placeholders for passed data.
In current example they are replaced with names.

1 and 2 allow you to replace parameters order in translated string, if really needed
while %s does not allow you to change order of params in string

What is “L/B/H/W”? How is it decoded?

If the code doesnt give any clues, then perhaps you have to install and try to use the plugin, to find where the string is used and what its meaning. Thats the job for the PTE, not to translate blindly, but to really use plugins/themes and provide organic translation ??

Sure, not translating blindly. Even when using a plugin, cannot decode L/B/H/W. Any ideas how to decode it in English? I.e. what are full words?

L is for length
W is for width or weight?
H is for height
B is for – …?

можно спросить гугл, тогда находим нечто вроде

(Столы, сундуки для лежания, металлические кровати, кровати из сосны) L-B-H, L – это длина (ГОСТ 13025.3 п 2), В – это ширина, Н – высота либо Д х Ш х В

последняя W получается weight

я бы не стала так просто ставить вам права PTE, если бы меня сильно не устраивал предложенный перевод
ну и не забывайте поставить плагин, попользоваться им, собственно этим и отличается перевод PTE – личная заинтересованность в использовании проекта и органичный перевод

А перевод отвлеченный от использования плагина может быть конечно хорошим и по большей части правильным, но нюансы мелкие всё равно будут

удачи. если еще будут вопросы, пожелания, втч и по другим проектам – ссылочки на русский форум переводов выше дала.
