s2 member mailchimp issues

s2 Member appears to be unsubscribing members from my mailchimp list after they purchase a membership from me. It doesn’t happen to all new members, but when I look at the profile in mailchimp, it says: Reason: N/A (Unsubscribed by an admin)
As you can imagine, having brand new clients being unsubscribed from my list serve by s2 member is amazingly frustrating. Do I have some setting in s2 member set incorrectly? This just started happening about a month ago.
This is in addition to s2 Member no longer being capable of putting subscribers into specific groups in a mailchimp list when they purchase – I now have to do this manually for each new client. This feature used to work, but no longer appears to be supported by s2member. Any updates on this functionality coming back?
