s2Member and Members plugins issue

  • I’ve been using both s2Member (free version) and Justin Tadlock’s Members plugins for some time. They work well. However, whenever I update either WordPress core or s2Member, all the customized capabilities for s2Member levels 1 and 2 disappear in Members and I have to reset them. Members was recommended to me by Jason Caldwell to give our members more capabilities than Author allows. When I lose capabilities, members don’t even have Contributor capabilities. Does anyone know how to resolve this? (IVTOM.org)

    I may have found the solution. According to s2Member, I can use a hack to prevent S2Member from resetting the roles/capabilities. I’ve done this, so will see if it works after the next plugin update. If there are other solutions, please let me know. Thanks.
