• Hi,

We have what appears to be an obscure bug that’s similar to https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/problem-on-safari-with-wp-rocket-and-gtm4wp/ except we don’t get automatically redirected – the links just don’t work at all. To confirm, click a product category, go into a single product, then click the back button in safari, and the same product cannot be clicked again (although others will work). Each time you visit the product, then click back, it’ll add that product to the list of unclickable links, and you can actually get multiple to stop working.

I was able to get it to work by disabling “Track enhanced e-commerce” under Integration -> WooCommerce, although we’d definitely need this enabled.

I noticed that keeping the waterfall open when recreating the frontend bug would only show the “collect” request that goes to google-analytics.com/j/collect?[enter a bunch of query params here]. It’s as if that request gets the browser “stuck” and it won’t try to proceed any further. Further clicking of the product link will just populate one more per attempt. Refreshing or navigating from the category page starts the whole process over. I’m not able to see any kind of console errors, and I’ve tried nuking all tags in GTM without success.

    Thanks,
    – Nick

    Hi,

I did some more digging, and rolling back from 1.13.1 to 1.11.6 seems to fix the issue. Still need to do some more testing to confirm, as I know some settings had to be changed when initially updating to that higher version. IIRC, our tracking or numbers were way off, and there was a guide on your site about what to change.

    Best,

    Hi Nick,

    Thanks for your report.
I am currently investigating this issue. You can follow this thread:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/problem-on-safari-with-wp-rocket-and-gtm4wp/#post-14649658

There you will see what my first test will be. If you can help me with the testing on a dev version of your site, that would be fantastic and a big help solving the issue.
