    Hello,

I need to cleanup an old site with lots of images that were not optimized and then just upload my own new optimized images that won’t need any further optimization from the plugin.

Is it safe to completely remove the plugin after bulk optimization is done?
    Will optimized images remain optimized?

    Thanks.

You can certainly do that. Just be aware that the thumbnails generated by WordPress are not fully optimized, so EWWW IO will still help you with that if your uploaded images are indeed properly optimized.
