Safe to leave on all the time?

I’m quite sensitive to anything using server power, and I know that Broken Link Checker is quite intensive. But is that only when it has to run a big load? If I just leave it as the default setting and perhaps take off the “Run continuously while the Dashboard is open” then will I minimize any churn on my server?

I don’t think this really needs to run but once in a week or so… or should it run more often?
