    Just installed plugin. Put my IP address in safelist, then logged out. Tried logging in with wrong password, but it blocked me and after 4 attempts blocked me for 20 minutes. It seems the safelist has no effect? All other settings at default.

    I will try adding usernames to the safelist instead. We have a few staff members who access site, all using same IP, that’s why I wanted to whitelist our company IP.

    Update: This plugin is a dud, and quite possibly a scam.

    Seems to work at first, but on closer inspection is nothing more than smoke and mirrors.

    Uninstalled.

    The 5 star ratings are likely people falling for the smoke and mirrors.

    sorry it didn’t work for you, but it’s definitely not a scam. GoDaddy and other large hosting providers pre-install it.

    Do you have other security plugins you use that might be conflicting? Also, is your IP address dynamic? I’m not saying you are wrong, but if the safelist didn’t work, I’d believe the 2M+ active users would be much more active here with complaints.

    This is correct. There are a lot of web hosting providers who install our plugin as part of their WP installation and some of them do it via MU (must-use) setup which cannot be controlled by the user. This is something to talk about with your web hosting provider.
