Safely change WordPress URL?

Thanks for the reply. That article explains how to change the URL by editing the files/database directly. Does that mean that one would only have to do that if something went wrong? If so, then changing the URL is as simple as changing Settings>General>Site Address (URL), correct?

Again, I have no way of getting into the WordPress files if something were to go wrong.

That Codex link explains it fully I believe, if you follow the instructions nothing should go wrong.

I couldn’t really find what I needed there. I did find this though:

It says to copy and edit several files. However, since I am only going from https://domain.com/Site to https://domain.com/site do I need to do that? If so, then I guess I’m out of luck since I don’t have file access.

If you don’t have administrator access you might be out of luck I’m afraid.
