Salesforce Assignment rules

Do you know if a web lead submitted to Salesforce will follow the assignment rules created in Salesforce? The other available plugin created by Zack Katz does not do this, it actually strips off the assignment rules.

Salesforce allows you to create assignment rules so different web to lead forms get assigned to different people or departments when a completed lead comes into Salesforce.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
