    Hey @shflbrian,

Sorry for the trouble. Can you tell me what steps you took before getting this error?

In the meantime, you can downgrade to the previous version if you need to get things up and running again quickly: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/pardot/advanced/

I followed all the instructions correctly; we have a Connected App with OAuth and the correct callback URL, all other info is also correct. I managed to revert to the old auth before Friday ended, but I’ll try the new one again.

@shflbrian Got it. If you have the connected app set up correctly but still have trouble, I’d recommend keeping the prior authentication method active and checking in with Pardot support.

I am getting the same error.

We are starting fresh, so don’t have a previous successful authentication.

Our users log in to Pardot using salesforce SSO.

    Any suggestions to troubleshoot?

Update: Based on this post – https://salesforce.stackexchange.com/questions/99900/oauth-issue-oauth-approval-error-generic I added the web and refresh token scopes to the connected app and was able to authenticate.

Not sure if there is additional risk in doing that, but we have it working now.

Thanks @bryangiese. I’m working with the team to clarify our documentation—the connected app should have these Oauth scopes:

    • Access Pardot services (pardot_api)
    • Perform requests on your behalf at any time (refresh_token, offline_access)

@shflbrian Can you let me know if this helps you as well?

Hi, We are getting this issue.

Error: Authentication failed. Please reset settings and try again (Error: access_token is invalid, unknown, or malformed: Invalid authentication credential value(s) in Authorization header parsed from http headers)

Followed all the steps in FAQ – (How do I authenticate with Salesforce SSO?)

Can you suggest where we would have made mistake.

    Thanks

We are also seeing this same issue –

Error: Authentication failed. Please reset settings and try again (Error: access_token is invalid, unknown, or malformed: Invalid authentication credential value(s) in Authorization header parsed from http headers)

Has anyone found a fix yet? As far as we can tell the connect app is set up correctly and has the correct scopes.

The plugin keeps resetting, too. Every few days it’s back to ‘Not Authenticated’ and I have to manually authenticate. I hope this is fixed soon because it’s beyond inconvenient.

I’ve configured the plugin as directed and I too am experiencing the same issues as everyone else in this thread. “Error: Authentication failed. Please reset settings and try again (Error: access_token is invalid, unknown, or malformed: Invalid authentication credential value(s) in Authorization header parsed from http headers)”

I have the same issue too. The plugin was authenticated a week or so ago, but now will not authenticate. Same error as others: “Authentication failed. Please reset settings and try again (Error: access_token is invalid, unknown, or malformed: Inactive token)”. We have both these oAuth scopes selected:
Perform requests on your behalf at any time (refresh_token, offline_access)
    Access Pardot services (pardot_api)

    Anyone have a solution yet?

Here’s what worked for me (was having the same issue):

    1) Click on Reset All Settings
    2) Click on Clear Cache
    3) Re-enter all fields
    4) Click Save Settings
    5) In my case, check box for Use HTTPS?
    5) Click Re-authenticate with Salesforce

Nothing worked before this. Wonder if it’s a cache issue.

    Same problem here

    I came to revisit this.

@amc4x4 has the right solution above. That worked on the latest version for me.

you can consult with salesforce integration service team. they are experienced in such questions
