I am getting the following error in the Facebook Pixel overview for my website:

Same event ID received for many event instances

You're sending the same event ID for many instances of your Purchase events. Event IDs are unique identifiers that are used to deduplicate identical events received from your pixel and the Conversions API so they're not counted twice. To ensure that Facebook is accurately counting your events, each unique event instance needs its own unique event ID.

This may cause issues with the measurement of your events and the attribution of your ad campaigns.

I have checked and I do not have any duplicate Facebook pixel plug-ins, only the official plugin. The Facebook pixel helper also does not report any issues, and only one pixel firing.

    Can you help, please? Thanks.

  • Same problem for me too, following this thread.

We have upgraded to latest version of plugin, still we are getting the issue same. Could you please give a solution to resolve it?

    Same issue.
Might be caused by second click on “Purchse” button on checkout page.
Customer might click the button multiple times due to weak internet connection.

Same here… it seams that Facebook plugin is not working properly.
    Do you have a solution?

    Hi there,

    Thank you for your patience.

We’ve seen a similar issue caused by users adding pixel tracking code multiple times.

Could you please double-check that you’re not manually adding a Facebook pixel or Pixel event through your site’s header.php or another Pixel extension (Aside from the Facebook for WooCommerce extension)?

Please let me know what you find so I can help further.

Any update on this, same error and only using the official FB for WC plugin. If I click on the Facebook ID link in the sidebar in my WC backend for each product it opens the appropriate product on https://www.facebook.com/commerce/products/ so no mismatch there.

    Hi All!

We just updated Facebook for WooCommerce to version 2.3.3 to address sync issues such as this; please update the plugin, disconnect and re-sync, then let us know if the issue persists!

Still it has the same issue after updating to latest version , please help

    Hello @sameerdha

We have found that this issue is related to a bug that our developers are currently working on. You can learn more about that here:

    https://github.com/woocommerce/facebook-for-woocommerce/issues/1722

In one case the issue was caused by a site using both Facebook for WooCommerce and the Facebook Pixel plugin. Is this the case for your situation? Are there any other pixel plugins or integrations. If either are true, please disable all but the Facebook for WooCommerce extension and test again, please.

After that, please update us on the situation. I hope this helps! If you have any further questions please feel free to reply to this thread and I or another Happiness Engineer will get back to you.
