Hi there, MetaSlider looks like a very nice slider plugin ty : )

One problem .. if I use the same picture on two different sliders; the settings for that pic are the same. So for example I might want picture1 to have a link when using the home-page slider, but I have a second slider on a different page which also shows picture1; but I don’t want that one to have a link/url .. if I remove the URL or change the Caption on one of the sliders; the second slider gets the same URL/Caption settings ..

I guess I could work around this, but any thoughts?
    Cheers,
    Chris

  • Hi Chris,

The functionality you’ve described is both a design feature and a flaw.

Slides are just standard WordPress Media Files, and Meta Slider uses the actual caption field for the Media File to store the caption. You can only have one caption per media file, and the same applies to the URL. The good bit is that Meta Slider uses standard WordPress functionality to store captions, the bad bit is… it uses standard WordPress functionality.

You’ll need to upload a second copy of the media file if you need unique captions/URLs.

    Tom

That’s a good explanation thanks, and not a problem.
And a very quick reply, thanks Tom …
