    Hi.

I’m trying to create a portrait image crop that has different crop positions.

For example, I’ve created two additional custom sizes – all images are 550width by 730height, but with the crop left or right.

thumbnail-left and thumbnail-right – I’ve also set the default thumbnail to 550 width by 730 height in wordpress settings.

Im also trying to use advanced custom fields to then select the correct image, but not even getting that far yet.

The problem I seem to be having is that there’s only one image of this size created, the right crop one.

I believe that it’s because they’re all the same size, so overwriting the regeneration with the final option (right crop).

any idea how to make this work in my situation would be amazing.

    Thanks

    Hey @aaronbennett2097! ??

The sizes are used to create thumbnails for unique media. Each thumbnail is defined by its size, so there cannot be two thumbnails with the same size and name (and extension). If you want a thumbnail cropped on the left and another cropped on the right, these would be two different images, not thumbnails of the same media. Thanks!

    Thanks @valwa

Is there no way to enter the size name to the end of the cropped thumbnail so that it can generate the same image size in multiple crops?

    for example:

    image-001-500×400-left.jpg
    image-001-500×400-center.jpg
    image-001-500×400-right.jpg

Or does wordpress not work this way?
