Sample Page Showing in Google Search Results

    Hi,

    I’ve been online with my new WordPress website for about a month.

    The problem is this – when I input my domain name into Google and run the search query I appear on page 2 or 3. However, the page showing in Google’s results is my “sample page”.

    I logged into my WordPress dashboard, went to pages and deleted the sample page. I have permanently deleted it.

    Why is it still showing on the Google search results and how do I get rid of it? I was hoping a domain name search would take me to my home page.
