Sandbox and moving?

Hiya gang,

I’m going through support docs, and following instructions, but I have a question about moving directories.

Can I do my install into a sandbox directory, and then once I’m all set with themes and Pages and whatnot, move it to the root directory and have it all still work? Or does it need to be installed into the directory where it will actually live?

(I did a search on the forums for this question, thinking that surely it’s been asked a zillion times, but I didn’t see it. I apologize if my search fu is off.)
