Save a Page created within WP as a Template

  • Saw a similar post that turned nasty but didn’t provide a solution. I’ll try to re-state the issue herein.

    Within the administrative panel, I created a “Page” that I titled “Home”. I placed my content therein and it works OK. Now, being both a new WP guy and curious, I wonder if there is a way to turn that “Home” page into a template right there, from the administrative panel. I don’t want to save index.php as page.php or any other strategy. I just would like to have a nice template produced from within the admin panel.
