'Save Draft' and 'Preview' Shows a White Screen With “-1” Only

  • When non-admins click ‘Save Draft’ or ‘Preview’, instead of being brought back to the post creation screen or seeing a preview of their post, respectively, they are brought to a white screen that mysteriously only has ‘-1’ in the top left. That is the only thing on the screen. This doesn’t happen for non-admins.

    WHAT IS GOING ON!?

    I’ve been researching for hours and I’ve seen lots about ‘the white screen of death’ but nothing about ‘white screen of death with a mysterious ‘-1”.

    Things I’ve tried:

    – Cloning admin to custom role and taking away capabilities (worked for a time)
    – Disabled/re-enabled plugins
    – Took away custom php work
    – Cleared cache
    – Tested for every non-admin level of user
    – Searched the internet to no avail for several hours

    i wonder if it has to do with “wp-admin/post.php” at all, but then again it happens for save draft as well as preview..
