Note that my blog was recently migrated at this new host

Did you properly follow this article to move WP to a new server:

yes sir… as well as on how to restoring and backing up the whole wordpress blog and editing my database file, by the way I use thebloggerstips.tk when I first setup the blog then later on purchasing the domain name. I do edit the SQL database file and replace properly the domain name on it.

In any case I should double check if I have done something wrong on moving my blog.

Anyway thanks a lot for a quick responce.

    Have you tried:

-Double checking your wp-config.php file settings for the database and host names?

-deactivating all plugins. If the problem goes away, activate them individually to find the culprit?

If you don’t have access to to your admin area, try deactivating them manually via FTP or phpMyAdmin.

-switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific issue?

If you don’t have access to your admin area, then access your server via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

-If the above steps do not resolve the issue, Download WordPress again and replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies. This should replace your core files without changing your content and settings in wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory.

Note that some uploaders may not overwrite files reliably, so delete the original files before replacing them.

-if that does not resolve the issue, try increasing memory available for php.

Thanks for this one, it really speed up my blog. But I’m wondering that there might be a downside to it.

Anyway about the other problems, I had tried all of them but still I get some problems from saving some options of my blog. Although I had thought of a way to resolve this problems, I’ll keep this post updated once until it is solved.

Just find out if there something wrong with my move to another server and to solve this problem,

note that i placed a temporary index.html file on my blog

    1. I had backed up all my files and database
    2. delete the old blog and install a new WordPress blog (downloaded from www.ads-software.com)
    3. Created the database, edited the wp-config.php file, install, then login
    4. Next I check each settings then when it comes to the permalink settings, switching to custom structure then to add /%postname%/ on it then save changes.
    5. Then it redirected to this page showing this message,

    406 not acceptable

    Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /wp-admin/options-permalink.php could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache Server at thebloggerspath.com Port 80

Before I’ve post this one, I googled for the term hostnine.com 406 not acceptable and I found out that the problem could be with my hosting provider HostNine. Specifically on the issue of about this mod_security thing which is I’m not familiar with.

    Not Acceptable Error
A Not Acceptable (406) error is indicating the script you are trying to run is triggering security rules that are defined in mod_security. These rules are designed to help protect your account and server from unauthorized access by means of tricking the script into doing something it wasn’t meant to do.

Although they do provide a solution to this which states.`
If you require mod_security to be disabled on a domain, please open a ticket with our support department to have this done. In your message be sure to include the specific domain or subdomain you need it disabled on.`

To conclude this long post I guess this issue something to be aware for all bloggers who want to setup a wordpress blog with hostnine. As of my experience as of now, their plans was good for newblogger aside from this 406 error I’ve encountered.
