    Hello Anyone,

    I need help with wordpress.
Anytime i update a post, page or settings (on a live server), the update is not saveed but i am instead redirected to the homepage.

Sometimes update will be saved after several tries.

    Any guidance will be welcomed.
    Questions as well.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Hello Esmi

    Thanks for the reply.
I have tried all those options prior to posting in here.
Still did retry but the problem still persists.

    Thanks

Have you tried checking your server’s error logs? Your hosts should be able to assist you with this.

    Hello Esmi,

    Thanks for the reply.
I contacted the hosting provider and they asked i disable modsecurity.
    Did and it worked.
But i am concerned about disabling that feature.

    Thanks for your help.
    I am very grateful.

    Warm, kind regards.

i am concerned about disabling that feature.

I would be concerned in your shoes too. When we do see mod_security issues, they are usually caused by an over-aggressive configuration of the module at the hosts’ end.

Try asking your hosts if they would be willing to work with you to establish a mod_security configuration that is compatible with WordPress longer term. It would make sense for them too.

    Hi Esmi,

I did ask and initially they replied asking to turn the modsecurity back on after i finish with the edit.

So i probed further by asking what happens in a situation where i need constant updates of the website, whether they will be willing to work with me to resolve it and here’s what they said.

“Yes, when you are triggering a ModSecurity rule you can contact us and let us know what exactly you are doing so we can check which Mod Security rule your script has triggered and further investigate if it is possible to disable it.”

Well, guess i will go that way for now. Hopefully they will disable any rule i present. ??

Sounds like they’re willing to work with you which is always a good sign. ??
