    I used this with the latest version of WP and the plugin worked fine. I suspect that those who claim the plugin does not work did not properly input their URLs (note: I’m pretty sure you HAVE to use the “https://www” prefix and not a shortcut like “mysite.com”).

    Also, some have said it’s slow; I didn’t find that at all but maybe it’s a function of site size, or this issue has been fixed.

    The only links it did not find were in my widgets and in my theme’s custom options such as my site header. It also cannot get inside galleries such as those built by the plugin Smart Slider 3 that I use.

    That the plugin does not get into widgets, theme options, or galleries may actually be a good thing, or the plugin might likely break the others, though I really don’t know. What I do know is that fixing the widgets and site header was simple and far less time-consuming that updating hundreds of links. (I am nevertheless taking off one star for this in case it should find these things.)

    (Note to anyone also using Smart Slider 3: don’t panic; all you have to do to fix is reopen each slider, let it find its images in the media library, then resave.)

    My only regret is that I did not find this plugin when I was building my new site because I had imported content from a previous WordPress site and had to rebuild all the links by hand. Duh! I should have known someone would have built a plugin for that!

    Sorry for a delayed response to your review. The plugin has gone through some author changes lately resulting in some lag and minor updates. However, I wanted to reply and thank you for your in depth and honest review.

    As the new author, am looking for ways to update the plugin and make it better without making it complicated. The idea is simple and effective.

    I will look into the URL updates in galleries, widgets and theme options as well as some other tables in in the DB. I am also looking into making the exact match search a bit more relaxed to rid issues when someone does not enter the URL correctly.
