Saved Post Disappeared? Not in trash

  • I’ve been working on a blog post for days on my site… and this morning its just gone. I tested out trashing a blog, and it keeps it in a trash folder. But the one I’ve spent 20+ hours writing? Just gone. I know it had been saved multiple times. It was in the post list yesterday. I am SO upset. This was a cornerstone content blog that I had put a LOT of work into. I literally don’t feel comfortable using wordpress anymore if its just going to glitch delete what I’m working on.
    Any ideas on getting back my work?? I assume I’ll just have to start over and never know what the F happened.

    Did you by chance have any backups made? Maybe your host does backups and can restore your site to a certain point if you weren’t actively backing your site up.

    Did you accidentally save it as a draft?

    I’d expect it to be in drafts, posts, or else in the trash until someone cleared out the trash.

    And it’s just barely possible but it might have been saved as a page because of a database hiccup! So look at pages just to see if it’s there!
