Let’s suppose that a customer has distinct billing and shipping addresses. He uses the diffenent shipping address OCCASIONALLY.

If he places an order without checking ‘Ship to a different address’, the STORED shipping address gets overwritten by billing address (it can be seen in Myaccount->addresses).

    This makes no sense.

I can confirm that as of today (latest WC) this issue is still present.

It is also mentioned in the following page but the team has closed the ticket as previously mentioned (although the previous one discusses something slightly different).

    Hi @fesarlis

I understand that you’re experiencing an issue where the stored shipping address is overwritten by the billing address when the ‘Ship to a different address’ option is not selected. I can see how this could be confusing, especially when you occasionally use a different shipping address.

I want to assure you that we take all user feedback seriously. While the mentioned issue on GitHub was closed because it discussed a slightly different issue, your concern is still valid.

Please note that, at the time being, we can’t give you an estimate for when the team will look into or fix the issue, as bug reports are prioritized based on a few criteria. Please subscribe to the GitHub issue if you’d like to receive updates. I also suggest contributing to that GitHub report, which will help our development team investigate further.

I hope this provides some clarity. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
