    I would suggest that you add a button in the editor, there are other plugins that do this, you might want to take a look at Crayon as that one does it for sure.

    So basically you’d click the button, and a popup with a text box will show up, then you just insert the shortcode and hit ‘Insert’, reverting the display to the editor with the [wp_scs] and [/wp_scs] added automatically.

    I think that would make it an even faster process for users to insert their shortcodes.

    Thanks for the feedback. This is a nice idea. It’s not exactly trivial as I’d need to extend both TinyMCE (the visual editor) and the HTML editor, which both use different code to work and to extend. But it’s definitely doable. I’ll look at getting this done for the next version of the plugin; just not sure when that will be though.
