We are having an issue with PublishPress in that if a post is saved as pending review. Then either an Editor (or an author with publish ability) selects Save as Pending again, it will immediately publish the piece, and mark it as published.

Hi @billrw3 thank you for getting in touch.

Please, could you let us know if that only happens on Gutenberg or classic editor?
I tried to reproduce on both, but I wasn’t able to replicate it.

Please, could you try reproducing on a different site?

Hm, interesting, I’ll try it in classic. Currently it’d only been being tried on Gutenberg.

Does the plugin have an increased logging option for the php logfiles to watch the workflow transitions?

    Hi,

Please, could you confirm if that only happens when different authors save the post as pending?

Sorry but we don’t have a specific logging option for that on the php side. But you could try temporarily creating a notification workflow that is triggered when the post is moved to the Pending, or Published status. That way you could track the post status changes.

Feel free to contact us if you find anything else.

I’m closing this for now. Please post back if this continues to be a problem.
